Raleigh, NC - The North Carolina Solar Center at NC State University announced today that the statewide green building program it developed and administers, NC HealthyBuilt Homes (HBH), has signed a Community Partner agreement with the Appalachian State University (ASU) Energy Center to create NC HBH’s second community partner, NC HealthyBuilt Homes of Northwestern NC. This new NC HBH Community Partner will administer the NC HealthyBuilt Homes program in 17 counties: Allegany, Alexander, Ashe, Avery, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Cleveland, Davie, Davidson, Forsyth, Mitchell, Stokes, Surry, Watauga, Wilkes, and Yadkin. Director Dona Stankus made the first public announcement of this new HBH Community partner to approximately 75 members of the Ashe County Home Builders Association during a previously scheduled green building presentation on June 14th at Ashe County High School.
